@oceanstarr - It's not really accepted. I mean, there is a class of society that goes in for it. But that class is about 2% of the population. You could count on the fingers of one hand how many tattoos you see in this country in one year...possibly only on two fingers...
Henna tattoos are very acceptable, on the hands, forearms, feet...but not permanent ones so much. Body piercing, apart from the ears and nose, is not regarded very well either.
@jaded_maudlin - Some places even here, it's illegal to tattoo. The gov't kind of discourages it. It's somewhat difficult and expensive to get licensed. I think one state has no legal tattooing at all. It's interesting to me. Of course it has to be done correctly to be safe, but I always thought it should just be regulated like any other health related field.
@oceanstarr - I tend to agree with you. In Pakistan though, it's a social taboo. They haven't got to thinking of the practicalities yet. I have 2 friends whop got their belly buttons pierced. Their guy friends would not talk to them initially, because they had decided that only prostitutes get such piercings done. The take on tattoos would be similar. Health concerns would be secondary.
I got this really cool flesh-colored tattoo on my chest. Uh, I think I got ripped off.

It's not the tats that grab my attention, but your face. Very expressive. The eyes, so large. Just like nobody knows what's up with the Mona Lisa musings, I wonder, what's with the slight smile? Looks like you're showing your gypsy side. Very nice
