Your rolls/buns look beautiful! I'm not a big fan of molasses, but I would definitely consider trying them. I remember my grandmother baking like that when I was a kid. She made some of the best things and some were very unique, too. Have you ever heard of a hoot'n'nanny?! Not sure of the spelling since I think it was her own made up word. You use the leftover dough (or you just make more) from a pie crust, roll it flat, slap some butter on it, and then sprinkle oodles of cinnamon/sugar on it. You then roll it up and then slice it into 1/2" to 1" little pinwheel type treats - bake and then enjoy! My Mom can't make a pie without making them; even to this day because she knows how much we like them. They tend to be a little dry, but they never last long!
