Heartwarming Iraq Picture Moment
"There are no words to express everything conveyed by this photo. To me, it represents the highest ideals of our country and our guys, and the hopes and aspirations of the Iraqi people. This is why we fight." Here is the link: Link The link shows a closeup of the child's feet on the troop's foot.

Uh... yeah.
All children are innocent. Central Islip Long Island needs forced sterilization and maybe a few banks of ovens for those older than 11.
Trust me, you gotta live here to appreciate the goodness of humanity.
why isn't the soldier killing that innocent child?
@thinmanii - idiot.
@thinmanii - He hasn't seen the fangs yet
the link doesn't work for me.
Bad link for me, too.
But that quote seems really lame for that photo. The kid looks like he has a stomachache and needs to go find a toilet.
yah, bad link:(
despite all the bad press the war gets, we're doing a lot of good over there but good news is hard to get on the 6 o' clock news anymore- it doesn't get as high ratings as bad news does which tells you what kind of loving humane society we are...
I think we forget too easily how small this war is compared with most the other wars America has ever fought- this is small fries and we're mostly in the recovery process so let's hear more good news, shall we???
That's cute, and not the only photo of its kind.
Why so few comments on this photo?
@Amarisa -
Because it not showing what some like to claim Iraq is all about.
The war is winding down we are wining it. Not just killing the bad guys we are winning the hearts and minds over there. It will never be Sweden, but we have basically won, or more honestly the Iraqis are wining it and we are helping.
American solders getting along with children is an old story seems to be an American cultural trait we like kids. I don't know that is so unusual world wide or not, but it is true of Americans
@Amarisa - Trun's right. :)
if i saw someone in camo with a big gun, i would definitely not go stand on his foot.
@CrazyXBeautifulXDisaster - you're so awesome.
@CrazyXBeautifulXDisaster - you're so awesome.
@toppled - you would if you understood that he was there to protect you.
:3
I bet a lot of soldiers would like to kick some of your (as in most citizens in America) asses. But most of the soldiers I know don't care because they are getting time off and want to spend time with their families or...just don't care. :P
*don't care enough.
awwww look at that!
@toppled - children are curious.
@MoBunshin - I hope they don't want to kick my ass - I pay their salary to keep my ass unkicked! Assuming your frustration is born of pro-military sentiment, I'm totally with you.
"Sand is hot - can I stand on your boot? Aren't you hot in all that gear? Do you have any candy? Why is my older brother obsessed with girls?"
@trunthepaige - Exactly
awe! that is very sweet! ^^
It looks like he's pointing his gun at the child's stomach. :/
But it is sweet, especially how the kid's bare feet are both on the soldier's boot.
