A transsexual playing a transsexual? That's a groundbreaking idea, and must have taken a genius to think of it!
@DrugInducedDuck -
lol
sadly, like many transsexuals she has that overly-feminized look.
bleh.
Wow. That plastic surgeon did a hell of a job.
I can hear men's testicles retreating worldwide at this prospect. "Man, she is so hot."
"That's a DUDE!"
"No way man!"
"You're checking out a dude, dude."
"Oh, man."
@RaVnR - Yeah, the face still screams "IT'S A TRAP!" I guess we're still lucky that plastic surgery has quite a few advancements to make before it looks real.
I'm sure you could post pics of trannys and non and guys wouldn't know the difference in most cases.
it would be news if it was like "pre-op tranny whips it out on live tv!"
@DrugInducedDuck - Not to mention the incredible acting ability that would be required! It would be really tough for me to play a slightly overweight, ex-jock with lingering delusions of grandeur in a movie or TV show! It would take me at least 5 seconds to resume the role I play in real life!!!
@TheGreenPanther - I disagree, it's pretty easy to tell.
well now.
@TheGreenPanther -
pretty sure Dan did this once...?
@DrugInducedDuck -
I can tell but only because I was looking for it. If I met her on the street it might escape my notice.
She sure is gorgeous enough, I couldn't tell she was once a man
In her case I might be able to overlook this little transsexual flaw.
wink wink!
@ChrisRusso - I guess being a art major and studying the differences in anatomical form between male and female for hours on end gives me an advantage, lol.
I like that show! And she does a very good job on it.
I'd be willing to ignore the whole transsexual thing in her case too! Damn, she's hot. lol. If I didn't know, I wouldn't have been able to tell that she was once a man.
In all seriousness though, it's cool that she's getting the part. Even if it won't be that difficult for her to play. Transsexuals don't get enough recognition in the acting community, I think.

Yes, that is lucky. Who knows what would happen if transexuals were recognized solely as the gender they indentify as. Not being treated like a second class citizen, dating, not having people pause and stutter when they have to use a pronoun, being seen as a person instead of a "transexual." It would be pandemonium! Our society would crumble! Slippery slope! Slippery slope!
@elvesdoitbetter - I don't want to find out the chick I'm dating used to be a guy, but that's just me. I dunno, maybe you're into that kind of stuff.
She does look kind of fake, but hey, who doesn't nowadays? She actually looks really good, considering.
Kudos to her.
And @DrugInducedDuck - Why wouldn't you date a transsexual? Particularly with mtf, it's really rather difficult to tell the difference.
@la_faerie_joyeuse -
I can't speak for the Duck, but I wouldn't date one, and it has nothing to do with telling the difference. I believe that gender goes deeper than mere sex, mere physical appearance--it's part of who a person is. And being hetero, dating a transsexual would for me mean dating a guy, even if future surgeries improve and it's literally impossible to tell the difference. I call this person "her" out of respect, because it's what she wishes to be called, but she still has Y chromosomes, no matter how good she looks.
Besides, I'm not a fan of recreational body mods in general. Boob jobs, facelifts, lipo... unless it's something disfiguring or that impedes your life, my advice is not to bother. I'm not even a fan of hair dye. Natural is better.
@lyricsninja - that would be something to see.
she looks a bit like a high-tech elegant clown
