"The sign in front of a small church in a small town is causing a big controversy in Jonesville, S.C. Pastor Roger Byrd said that he just wanted to get people thinking. So last Thursday, he put a new message on the sign at the Jonesville Church of God. It reads: 'Obama, Osama, hmm, are they brothers?' Byrd said that the message wasn't meant to be racial or political. 'It's simply to cause people to realize and to see what possibly could happen if we were to get someone in there that does not believe in Jesus Christ,' he said." Here is the link:

whoa...
well. its true. people do need to be thinking about it.
um i rather imagine that would be a bit more pertinent were obama not an attendee of a christian church, just as the rest of politicians do.
Interesting.
What a group of idiots. That TIRED comparison lost its freshness about two seconds after it was first thought up, AGES ago. Not racial or political? Bullshit on both counts. I'm tired of people being racist and then insisting they're not being racial at all. What a damn lie.
And how does that stupid little caption show a prez who "doesn't believe in Christ"? Newsflash: Obama does believe in Jesus Christ. He is a Christian. He may be a much more liberal Christian than these... people. But a Christian nonetheless. Notwithstanding his name, where he went to grammar school or the fact that he's a liberal Democrat. God. I'm so SICK of this nonsense that just because you have certain politics you MUST not be a good Christian. I'm not that liberal myself, and I still think this is just the utmost in bogus piety. And what does any of this have to do with religion, faith, belief, Jesus or anything else? CLASSIC imposition of beliefs on a congregation.
It is THIS kind of
crap that makes good and thoughtful people turn their backs on Christianity.
You know... if he was a TRUE christen... shouldn't he believe we are all brothers and sisters... metaphorically speaking?
wow ... that's... ouch.
LOL
@angi1972 -
:) Nice. This makes me so frustrated, as a Christian. There are people who just don't think in every religion/non-religion; it just seems to get more dangerous and frustrating when you combine not thinking with religious zeal.
Idiots. Leave it to the southern idiots in my state to do something this stupid. And if I hear one more person say he isn't a Christian!! The man believes in Jesus. But what does that have to do with him being in the White House. I am pretty sure not every president we had was a Christian. Get off it country hicks. Damn rednecks. (i've been in south carolina way tooo long).

That has to be the stupidest church sign--and stupidest justification for it--that I've ever heard, with the possible exception of Fred Phelps's signs. Ye gods!
uhhh....
but he's Christian....
Seriously? How Christian is that? I am so frustrated by all this talk about Obama not being Christian, and all the other stupid slander going around. Can't this church find something better to talk about? To echo what several people have already said, as a Christian, this really bothers me. It seems to bear little resemblance to what I believe.
Religion needs to keep its big nose out of politics!!! Nuff said.
Names are just names. Since when the names Obama and Osama are so exclusive? There is a town called Obama in Japan and a village named Osama in Jakarta.
haha!
moronicacy!
idiotude!
faith-based poopflinging is still poopflinging. some of us are still monkeys.
@Lilpinkbunny - I don't know about that. Religion guides conscience, conscience guides decisions, and you get the idea. What they needed was a little common sense.
Stupid sign who's comparison doesn't really make sense with the worst justification they could have possibly used (considering that he is Christian and this sign is clearly being used for political purposes).
Someone shoot me in the head.

Squeakysoul is right on!
ARGH! I got a forwarded e-mail last week about how Obama is probably the anti-Christ. Oh good grief. What part of "attends a Christian church" is so hard to understand?
And we (Christians) wonder why people are unreceptive of beliefs. Hmmm....
Dumb.
What a fricking idiot! And he doesn't even realize what he's done. God, save me from Your followers.
you'd think with the big stink over Obama's pastor this guy would have seen the news coverage from Obama's church...full of christians.

Somewhere, a village is missing its idiot. And his name Roger Byrd...
