For few, Iraq war has changed everything
"Laura Youngblood clutched her husband's photo as she drove alone to the hospital. She'd become pregnant nearly nine months earlier, the day he'd left for training for Iraq. Hours later, after the baby was born, she placed the photo in the bassinet next to the infant he'd named Emma in his last letter home. He would never hold her." Here is the link: Link

Oh man, these kinds of stories make me sad :*-(
why is every tragic story news worthy? we all expected casualties. i'm not being heartless either. it is sad what has happened to this family, but rubbing our face in it every day doesn't change anything.
My heart breaks for her So many people take their safe, everyday lives for granted while some are just thankful to make it through each day. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be for her...
Thank you Dan,This is a post that people need to see.
There is a music video out by Jason meadows called 18 video tapes. It shows you the side of the war that really only family's of soldiers get to see.Here is a youtube link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaGmeFhqEpk
Whine, whine, whine, - I'm with Thinmanii on this one. It's tragic but necessary. It's pathetic that we even consider this newsworthy - why isn't there more focus on the LIVING soldiers, the majority of soldiers, and the good they're doing?
Stupid hippie peaceniks - move to Canada.
didn't read the article, so i'm going to assume he can't hold his child because his arms got blown off in iraq.
The story is indeed sad, but I am somewhat with thinmanii and jj.
Isn't every soldier's wife preggers?
@StrongLetterI -
He is dead,thats why he can't hold his little girl.
@Chesschick01Â - i think she was being sarcastic...
I'm with thinmanii on this one.
@AxWalkingxContradiction -
I know she is. However, I find it rude to speak of the Military in such a way. My husband is in the Guard and my Brother-in-Law is in the Army serving in Iraq right now.
People are dieing and family's are losing loved ones. Then people go and make jokes about it,it really makes me sick. Have some respect.
@Chesschick01 - i have family in the military too, chill out.
