Sunshine, Slides, and Swimming Pools

Summer has officially hit the Adirondacks, it has been HOT!  After 3 days of everyone in our household being cranky, we broke down and bought an a/c for our downstairs, and it's been great!  We also got a blow-up kiddie pool that Ellie and Tyler (mostly just Ellie at this point) have been enjoying.  We've also spent lots of time at the park together and with friends and family too.

We will be, Lord willing, celebrating Ellie's 2nd birthday next month!  I can't believe my little girl is almost 2 already.  My Tyler-man is 6 1/2 months and is such a fun little guy.  The Lord has richly blessed us with two wonderful children, although I am reminded often that we live with two little unsaved people...they can certainly act like it!  It's just a reminder to pray for them that they will one day come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!

Enjoy the photos and videos!

We enjoyed a fun Saturday visit from Ellie and Tyler's Great-grandparents!  We had fun showing them around Schroon Lake a little bit and going for a visit to the park.

Here's our little smiley-guy with Grammy!

Ellie two obsessions in life (at least in the outdoors) are rocks and dandelions.  It takes FOREVER to walk anywhere with her!

Then, we had Adam's whole staff over for dinner before the end of the spring quarter...we fit 18 people in our house!  It was so much fun.

It rained, so we had to move the party inside - this is our sun-porch

Ellie has been introduced to ponytails...finally she is sitting still long enough for me to do it.  They are staying in longer and longer too!

On our digital camera, we have a screen that you can pop out and twist around so she loves looking at herself!

I think this video is funny b/c I tell Ellie, "Say Hi, Ellie" and she very obediently says, "Hi, Ellie!"

This is my new favorite outfit on Tyler...partly because it's got a teddy bear on it but mostly because I just love the boy who is wearing it!

I thought I'd put this other video on here too, I love hearing little girl giggles!

Spring Days Make for Happy Children

Hurray for spring!  Everything is finally getting green and beautiful again around here.  Of course, I always seem to forget about the black flies and mosquitoes.    We have been outside every day except for the rainy ones (which haven't been very many).   We've had some fun family days at the SL park too.  Ellie loves to swing and slide and say "Weeeeee!"  Tyler watches over everyone with his studious observation skills...although he has been known to take a swing ride and a slide or two too!  Enjoy the pics.

Ellie enjoying her new Ladybug boots that Mimi brought for her when she came to visit...and her new favorite hat!

Mama and Ellie sporting "cool dude" glasses.  Hearing Ellie say "cool dude" is so hilarious!

On top of the world!

Tyler is growing and changing so fast...and so is his hair!  It's growing back quite nicely!

Happy little boy!

She loves duckies!  When you ask her what they say, she says, "Quack, quack, cock-a-doodle-doo!"  Blame a Wiggles song for that one.

Spring is Springing!

We have had some gorgeous weather this weekend, praise the Lord!  But this was the view out the window on Friday....

So, you never know what is going to happen in April in the Adirondacks!  The forecast for this week looks great, sunny and in the 50's so you can find us outside as much as possible!  Ellie keeps coming up to us with her jacket and shoes in hand saying, "Walk!" so even she is anxious for winter to be over.  I do enjoy the snow...until around January 15th.    But, the winter makes the spring and summer that much more appreciated.  I do love living here and seeing all the seasons God has made!  He is so good to us!

The family is doing well, Tyler checked in at his dr.'s appointment last week at 15 lbs 15 oz and 26 inches tall!  Ellie is over her ear infection, so for the moment all is relatively quiet on the home front. :)  Enjoy the pictures of our growing family!

Ellie thinks it is so fun to "help" mommy do the dishes!  Just wait until she's a little older...she probably won't think it's quite as neat!

Tyler's debut ride in his exersaucer, it was a hit!

Oh...since my last post, almost all his hair fell out!  So sad...but he's a cute little baldy.

This afternoon, Ellie discovered the joy of throwing rocks in puddles.  She is helping fill in our neighbor's driveway!

Tyler was close by supervising the effort

Peek-a-boo!

And...drumroll please...the first step in potty training...getting used to the potty! So far, she just likes to dismantle it.

Have a great week everyone!

Update and Vacation in Virginia

Hello everyone!  We are here and doing great, although we are waiting for spring with great anticipation!  It's seemed like a long winter this year and we can't wait to see grass.  This past week, we had an awesome time on vacation with my family in Virginia.  It was warm and sunny and mostly green with blooming pear trees and flowers.  It was definitely hard to want to come home to the snowy  north but it's good to be back!

The kiddos are growing like weeds and had a great time with MiMi, Papa, and Aunt B (although the 12 hours in the car wasn't their favorite!).  Ellie is 20 1/2 months old and Tyler will be 4 months old this coming week and I can't believe how fast time goes by.  I am continually reminded to enjoy each day and praise the Lord for my family often.  Adam and I had a great time too, we needed some reconnection time and willing free babysitting was such a blessing!

Here are some pictures from vacation mainly, with a few others thrown in.

I love the look on Tyler's face!

Ellie's first introduction to a real live kitty, she loved her!

This is taken at the same place as the kitty, the owners also had 10 bunny rabbits that Ellie enjoyed seeing.

Ellie loves hats and loved looking at herself in the mirror
